In late summer of 1988, the meadows surrounding the San Francisco Mountains were yellow, gold, pink, and light violet. It was a color feast which I honestly have not seen since. I created several canvases of the event, all of them now in my nostalgic column of visual delight. I understand why this meadow in “Summer’s Tapestry” has given way to housing and small ranches with mountain views, it is a gorgeous spot. However, the artist in me finds it difficult to revisit these meadows without sadness for the unobstructed vista.
